SARA MOSS has been a professional writer and photographer since 2000 and is now freelancing. She creates engaging copy and enticing travel images. Based in Brisbane, Australia, Sara has previously been at home in coastal New South Wales, Canberra, London, Northern France and at sea. Her wanderlust was born on the ocean: working at sea as a photographer was her first job.
Shipboard life was an introduction to close-quarter survival, long hours and enduring the tail end of hurricanes. However, Sara relished time on the beaches of the Dutch West Indies, cycling in New Zealand, swimming (with and without dolphins) in Mexico and overnight stops during which she quietly fell in love with Shanghai.
Sara has since written/photographed for UK travel publication Gazetteers (get the back story in Around the world in 1600 hotels), Australian Traveller magazine, Everything France magazine, Australasian Transport News, Superyacht Australia news, Queensland’s Sectorwide magazine, wcities.com and the Toronto Star. If you’re an editor seeking original copy and crisp images, Sara can help.
In the corporate communications sphere, Sara has penned many speeches for ministers and members of parliament; written for the web; created articles on varied topics from literacy to manufacturing and nanotechnology to tropical science. If you’re still reading, she’s also edited annual reports for the State Library of Queensland, Queensland State Archives and the Queensland University of Technology. If you’re a corporate communications manager or business owner whose to-do list is too long, Sara can help.
A member of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (Australian Journalists Association) and the Golden Key International Honour Society, Sara enjoys fencing. Yes, the sword kind. She’s not so much a fan of the other sorts.
